3 Zaires for Sale

Have put put 3 of my 4" zaires for sale. Need to trim the number of zaires from my tank as I have been busy collecting them over the past few weeks. So it's time to trim off the ones that are not as good looking. One of them in particular has been really faded throughout. Funny was the moment I transferred it to the 2ft tank (so that it's easier to catch later on), the stripes become dark black again..the water quality in the main tank is definitely better and being larger should have provided a better environment

The other fish is one of the two that i got from brother silvanus, didn't want to take at first cos the white spots were quite visible, but other than that, it has a nice shape and nice pectoral fins. I am still of two minds in picking out the last one. One is slightly not as blue as the rest, while other one, had stripes that are not as distinct, but it's really blue and it's more than 4" with very nice fins...still can't decide which to put up for sale.

Anyway i am asking for only S$180 for them, which is like only US$110 for 3 zaires! that's dirt cheap, but sale has been slow though. The two in the 2ft tank housed with the pulcher and brichardis are constantly at loggerheads, won't be able to keep them together for long the way i see it. Hope to clear the fishes soon.

New Zaires

bought 3 more zaires from fellow forummers. The first two was okay, with one having some white spots at the top of two stripes both sides. Didn't want to get it at first, but since the guy selling (Silvanus) needed to clear both, took both pieces for a knock down price of $120.

Bought another one from another guy yesterday. This one is a beauty. Didn't even bother to bargain the price down. It is the nicest subadult i have ever seen. Have quarrantined it in my 2ft tank. It's fins are a little torn cos it was housed with 3 greater than 8" mblues. Have added some Melafix and will probably tranfer it to the main tank in a day or two.

My main tank will now have 13 junvenile/subadults. Definitely need to clear some of them before the bioload gets in the way. Planning to sell 3 of the average looking ones for a cheap price. Will be taking some photos.

40 hours and still no shrimps

It's been 40 hours...still no shrimps. Must have done something wrong or the eggs are useless. Bought the small bottle for only $8. Was told premium eggs can cost up to $50. Would be happy if i can get 50% hatch rate. Anyway if there is still nothing tonight. I will change to the diy bottle setup that was recommended.

Hatching Baby Brine Shrimps

Want to keep premium food for my mobas. After researching around, baby brine shrimps seem to be the best for fries. Problem is, gotta hatch it myself. Bought a small bottle of eggs from C328 last evening, followed some basic instructions and hoping to see the babies later tonight when i get home.

Anyway have also found a very good article written by a local guy who is one of the pioneers in killifish rearing in singapore. Brother Loh Kwek Leong.

Baby Mobas

Bought two baby mobas from CF. Damn expensive but they look nice. Got potential :)
Anyway am housing 1 in a 2 ft tank all by itself and the other in the main tank with the rest but inside an old incubator tank. Dare not release it into the main tank cos i am afraid it will be bullied by the bigger fronts or worse the pulcher or brichardis which are already bullying my larger fronts.

Am separating them so as to minimize the chance of both dying due to disease or whatever reason (touch wood), and also to experiment and see how both will turn out.

Will post pictures soon. Haven't taken any pics for awhile.
