Update on My Bettas

It's been 3 and half week since I got my first betta spawn. There are about 10 of the fries left. There were like as many as about 40 when it first spawned. Not exactly a big batch but still quite a lot considering i didn't even condition the fishes first.

Anyway I have transferred daddy to another tank about a week ago, as I was a little concerned with the dwindling fries numbers and also seeing how fast daddy was picking up the bbs that were meant for the babies. Since then the population has somewhat maintained at 10 fries. I have also removed the fake plant that was meant to help support the egg nests that daddy made and also as a form of protection for mummy during mating.

As mentioned, been hatching bbs for the last two week daily to feed the fries. Will pour whatever that were left over to my planted tank for my 3 cacas and discus.

By the way, couldn't resist it. Bought 3 killis (2 of them african, the other one, not sure) and a few pencil fish to combat the algae in the planted tank.

Fishes Sold

All the "refugess" have been sold and collected. Can't help but feel a tinge of regret. It's the same when I sold away all my malawis about a year and a half ago. esp when the fishes have grown big and beautiful under my care.

The only times I felt good after giving away my fishes were when I gave away my blood parrots and my dad's luohan. Somehow just cannot connect with those fishes.

Well, I am going to do a wc tomorrow and try to trigger my ikolas to spawn again. Will try to more water change if possible. Would be nice to have some baby tropheus soon.

Clearing My Refugees

Have decided to clear all my non-tropheus from the main tank. Am determined to make the ikolas spawn as time is running out. This is the only time in the year where we can get temperatures below 28 degrees for a few days. Plan to clear them and do twice weekly WC to stimulate them.

Have posted the sale on the forum and straight away i have ppl reserving them.
