Awesome Tank

Found this in Cypho.com. Am in awed of this setup. My showcase tank in my dream fish room will have to be something like this!

New Fish

Bought 2 pairs of tangan gobies from CF. Even Stanley didn't know the exactly name. Was attracted to them cos I have never seen such fishes before. One of them has this perpetual clamped tail. Stanley said it's a repressive male, will be alright once it is on its own. It's been 4 days. The tail is still clamped and the fish is hiding behind the sponge filter. Doesn't look good.

Here's a pic of the better looking male.

Just found out that they are called Nanachromis Transvestitus and they are kribs! supposed to be kept in acidic waters! CF actually put them together with the other tangans and sold them to me as some tangan goby....even a reputable store can make mistake ..hahah...no wonder the other fella looked sick.

Updates

The krib eggs did not hatch. All were gone after two days. Suspect the parents ate them up. Anyway, the male half of the pair of Pelvicachromis taeniatus was found dead two days back. No visible sign of injury or sickness. I suspect the discus. Anyway with the male dead, i decided to put the pair of kribs into the same tank and free up the 1 ft tank for rehabilitation.

My fronts have been feeling skittish lately. Not sure why. The last time they were like that was a few days before the tsunami hit. Two of them have been battered and needed to be isolated. Have been treating with melafix, which worked wonders on the torn fins. Was told by a fellow hobbyist that Jason from CF does not recommend melafix for tangans. Though I don't use melafix often, it has proved to be very effective even with my tangans, esp the frontosas. Need to sniff around a bit for more info.

CF is bringing in a new shipment of tangans this week. Hope to drop by to take a look.
